How to connect to the Aims VPN

A VPN connection allows users to connect to internal Aims resources over the Internet using a secure connection. Aims uses GlobalProtect with Okta SSO to enable VPN access.

Follow these steps:

  1. Open the GlobalProtect application (IT will install GlobalProtect on your computer remotely ahead of time). Click the start button in Windows and search for ‘GlobalProtect’.

  2. Click Connect

  3. You will see an Okta sign-in screen on your default web browser. Sign in the same way that you would typically sign in to Okta.

  4. After the sign-in to Okta is complete, you will be redirected to the page shown below. Be sure to check the box (1) and then click Open (2).

Your user experience may vary slightly depending on your default browser and operating system.

Once you have logged in through Okta and completed the steps above, you will be connected to the VPN.
